CAMPAIGN MATERIALS

CHALLENGE

Running for office is a difficult decision to make. Once made, however, a candidate always wishes to put their best foot forward. Al had served as both Deputy Mayor of North Bay and as Member of Provincial Parliament for Nipissing. Al had been out of public office for several years but made the decision to run for Mayor of North Bay in 2010.

INSIGHT AND KEY CONSIDERATIONS

As a well known figure in the community, Al McDonald was running for Mayor against two other candidates. Al wanted a look that would be clean and contemporary without showing affiliation to any political party. The campaign required a variety of materials including a website, policy book, signage, banner stands, print ads and more. As well, a portfolio of professional photos were required of Al and his family, a selection of which would be used for the development of material.

IMPLEMENTATION

Campaign materials were designed and produced by TWG and distributed within the City of North Bay. Elections are fluid situations so one is never completely certain of outcome until the final ballot is counted. The colourful, vibrant, forward looking materials resonated with voters who told the candidate how much they liked his campaign look and feel and who elected him to office with an overwhelming majority.

RESULTS

The Al McDonald campaign materials were extremely well received by voters and earned TWG Communications a Summit Silver award.
